Pontoise Consulate General Celebrates 27th Anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s Accession to the Throne

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Pontoise, France, commemorated the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne. The official reception brought together French officials and elected representatives alongside members of the Moroccan diaspora and civil society leaders.
The program commenced with a welcoming reception followed by the playing of the Moroccan and French national anthems. Mrs. Wafae Ez-Zahi, Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Pontoise, subsequently delivered an official address.
In her address, the Consul General emphasized that Throne Day constitutes a major national occasion encapsulating the deep historical bond between the Alawite Throne and the Moroccan people. She noted that it symbolizes the continuity of the Moroccan state, adherence to the values of unity and solidarity, and the Kingdom’s firm resolve to advance its trajectory of progress and development.
Mrs. Ez-Zahi added that under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, Morocco continues its path toward modernization and development by bolstering its institutions, strengthening its economy, promoting social and spatial justice, and consolidating its role as a committed partner in fostering regional and international peace, dialogue, and cooperation.
The diplomat also highlighted the strength of the friendly relations and cooperation existing between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the Moroccan community residing in France toward strengthening ties and enhancing bilateral relations. She extended her gratitude to French authorities, elected officials, and key figures across economic, academic, cultural, and community sectors for their ongoing efforts to advance joint cooperation.
On behalf of all attendees, the Consul General expressed sincere congratulations and best wishes for good health, happiness, and prosperity to King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the Royal Family.
Following the opening remarks, attendees viewed the full broadcast of the Royal Speech addressed to the nation on Throne Day, which outlined the Kingdom’s strategic priorities and future prospects for national development. This was followed by the screening of a documentary film.
The celebration concluded with a reception held in an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, featuring authentic Moroccan hospitality and traditional cuisine reflecting the richness and diversity of Moroccan heritage.
